Meet Dr. Buckley


Over the past 27 years, Master Instructor Dr. Buckley has taught tens of thousands of dentists across the world in Orthodontics and centric-relation based Restorative Dentistry. He earned a teaching certificate from the Academy of General Dentistry and is a Master Senior Instructor for the International Association for Orthodontics.

Dr. Buckley has been a guest lecturer in the Philippines, Egypt, Poland, and Puerto Rico, while also speaking at many local study clubs. All of these events are a part of sharing his Centric Relation Orthodontics with previously trained Orthodontists. Dr. Buckley also leads his own study club in Boardman, OH that is focuses on Functional Occlusion and Orthodontics for the General Dentist.

Extended Bio

Dr. Buckley has been in practice for 45+ years and provided the Differential Straight Arch Technique/Light Force Orthodontics for 34 of those years. His original training was in Light Differential Force Technique, which went on to be known as Differential Straight Arch Technique after TP Orthodontics invented the Tip-Edge Bracket®. The diagnosis, treatment planning, records,  appliance placement, and mechanics are all the same.

Dr. Buckley serves as Second Vice President of the International Association for Orthodontics, from whom he holds a Diplomate degree. He is also a Master Senior Instructor for the Association. Dr. Buckley formerly held the positions of President of the IBO Board (the credentialing body of the IAO) and Chairman of the Education Committee. Dr. Buckley has been a 33-year member of Light Force America and holds a Diplomate from them as well. 

Dr. Buckley has an extensive background of post-graduate training in Restorative Dentistry from institutions such as Dawson Academy and The Pankey Institute. He learned from several leading instructors: Girard Chiche, Vince Kokich, Frank Spear, Maurice Salama, David Sarver, Bill Strup, Tom Trinker, Henry Tanner, Newton Fahl, Alvin Filastre.

I had felt the need to add conventional orthodontic services to my practice after I had had considerable success with many Invisalign cases. I had the good fortune to fall into Light Force orthodontics, which at first meant little to me in comparison to other orthodontics philosophies. I found Bill engaging, energetic, and steady. He was conscientious and respectful of our time, not wasting 20 minutes all day long. He worked with me after the class had dismissed, to help me catch up. He is a patient teacher, working to make the principles apply in practice. Classes were theoretical, and pratical, group related, and addressing patients case, by case.

I will complete his first course by June, and will undoubtedly sign up for his next class. Dr. Buckley has made our course time stimulating and rewarding.
