Course Description

This is a comprehensive orthodontic course which is Centric Relation Centered - just like Dr. Roth practiced.

What you will learn:

Light Force Orthodontics (Differential Straight Arch Technique)
Centric Relation Dentistry (as it applies to Orthodontics and General Practice)
Begin and finish a comprehensive orthodontic case

Disciplines covered:

Interceptive Orthodontics
Mixed Dentition Analysis and Treatment
Adult Comprehensive Orthodontics
Orthodontics in Conjunction with Complex Restorative Cases
Lingual Arches
Rapid Palatal Expansion
Diagnosis and treatment planning

If your interests lie in Orthodontics you will be extensively trained, and at the end of the two year course you should be well prepared to pass the Tier Advancement for either IAO, or Light Force America. The Tip-Edge Plus^® and CORALEX^® brackets are both Tip-Edge brackets. These brackets are advanced edgewise brackets capable of using the best of light force and straight wire mechanics. During the course the differences will be taught and you can make the decision on which to use and when. Also Tip-Edge brackets are, in reality, Advanced Modified Edgewise brackets with a Roth Prescription.

If you would like to obtain training on Centric Relation Occlusion and bring the concepts back to your office, or occlusal adjustment, mounting with Facebow, Lucia Jigs, anterior deprogrammers, occlusal guards, or other aspects of occlusion related dentistry - register for the Occlusion Course.

If your staff needs initial training in Orthodontic Assisting, or Orthodontic Records, or initial development of the patient data, or just needs a review: that training will be available upon request.

There are several Doctors in attendance who come as study club and have their cases reviewed. Everyone discusses the cases and exchanges ideas for treatment. You can select any number of the 6 offered each year.

I had felt the need to add conventional orthodontic services to my practice after I had had considerable success with many Invisalign cases. I had the good fortune to fall into Light Force orthodontics, which at first meant little to me in comparison to other orthodontics philosophies. He worked with me after the class had dismissed, to help me catch up. He is a patient teacher, working to make the principles apply in practice. Classes were theoretical, and pratical, group related, and addressing patients case, by case.

I will complete his first course by June, and will undoubtedly sign up for his next class. Dr. Buckley has made our course time stimulating and rewarding.
